 VOCABULARY

We will begin class with a few vocab review games (think pictionary, memory, etc.)

ACTIVITY - DATIVE + ACCUSATIVE

We will be practicing the use of the accusative and dative case with verbs.

#1: We will do the listening exercise 4a (page 103 Kursbuch). 

#2: We will do a review of the exercise by stating where the objects are using the DATIVE.

#3: We will work in pairs and set up our own apartment using the vocabulary cards from the vocabulary review. First you'll set up a nice apartment. Then you'll make a terrible apartment where nothing makes sense.

SONG

We'll then listen to the song from last week that highlighted different locations. We go to a location (accusative), then do something in that location (dative). Then we'll do our own version where instead of going to cool places like the cinema or pool, we go to rooms in the house. 

MORE PREPOSITIONS?

Up until now, we've mostly been using "in". But there are more two way prepositions! Let's review them.

Then we will refresh the two-case prepositions with the following song (start at 0:41)

We'll also look at some pictures.

We'll also read a children's book that has some prepositions.

We'll also look at the picture on page 104 Kursbuch and describe where things are.

ACTIVITY

Then we'll practice putting objects in certain places using toys, dice, and boxes. When we place the object, we'll say a sentence in the ACCUSATIVE. Once it's placed, we'll say where it is using the DATIVE.

ROLEPLAY

We'll watch the following Nicos Weg video and then act out the roles of apartment seeker and landlord.

We'll read an article about a baby that was born by the Autobahn.
